FAQ

Outline of the scholarship

Scholarships are granted to those students who are regularly enrolled in art colleges or universities designated by our Foundation. (Scholarships are not loans, therefore they do not have to be repaid.) The amount of scholarship is ¥30,000 a month and is granted for 2 years. Scholarship recipients are requested to enter their work in the group exhibition to be held in the second year of scholarship to show the results of their studies. Students who are seniors in their department or in the last year of graduate course can receive a scholarship for one year. In this case, they do not receive scholarships for the following year, but they are requested to send their works to the group exhibition.

* Students majored in aesthetics or art history are not qualified, since our scholarship is intended for students majored in practical skills in art.

How to apply for a scholarship

At the beginning of April every year, we send application forms and guidebooks to the persons in charge of scholarships of each designated college or university. Distribution of guidebooks and acceptance of applications are conducted by the student affairs section of each college or university. The closing date for applications is set at the beginning of May. In case of too many applicants, we request each college or university concerned to conduct an on-campus screening. In this case, follow the instructions of each college or university. The result of application is notified to each college or university and to each applicant toward the end of June.

* The Foundation does not conduct distribution of an application guidebook and an application form to each applicant. Please receive them from your college or university.
